How do you get the US$0 Developer plan?

By applying as a Tech Partner or a Startup Partner, and being approved. It is not a self-service plan: it does not appear on the pricing page and it cannot be switched on with a card. It gives you access to Meteor's API, SDK and MCP server with no monthly fee, and the only thing you pay for is the Energy your executions consume. If you just want to use the API and you already have an active Meteor account, you do not need to apply to anything.

Worth knowing before you start: the application form and the partner portal are published in Spanish, and so is part of the technical documentation. The team answers in English.

The two routes, and the third one that needs no permission

  • Tech Partner

    You already build product or technical services: you integrate systems, assemble automations, publish templates. You apply by telling us what you build today and what you want to build on Meteor, and the team reviews it. Once approved, the technical capability is enabled and you can publish in the marketplace, always with editorial review in between.

  • Startup Partner

    An early-stage company building its product that wants the Mets to be part of it. Same criteria through a different window: instead of track record, what counts is what you are building. Today that application comes in through the same partner program form, telling us there what you are developing.

  • You already have a Meteor account

    Then you apply to nothing. With an active account and API access enabled you issue your keys from Settings → Developers and use the same API, the same SDK and the same MCP server as a Tech Partner. The application exists for the fee-free plan, not for the API.

What the Developer plan includes

  • No monthly fee. There is no subscription. The plan does not appear in the Meteor catalog precisely because it is not a plan for running a business.
  • Full programmatic access. The API, the TypeScript SDK and the remote MCP server, with granular scoped keys and test keys.
  • Prepaid, no surprise invoice. You pay for the Energy your executions consume. When it runs out, executions stop: no debt accumulates.
  • Energy costs more than on a paid plan. That is the trade-off for having no fixed fee, and you are told when you activate it. If your volume grows, a paid plan ends up cheaper per execution.
  • Modest platform limits. Contacts and Mets at the minimum: it is a plan for building and integrating, not for running a company's day-to-day operation.

How you apply, today

The door is the same one as the partner program, and we say it plainly because the Tech Partner application lives inside the portal: first you get into the program, then you apply with your technical profile.

  1. You apply to the program

    In the open field of the form you say what you are building. That is where it becomes clear whether your case is a Tech Partner or a Startup Partner.

  2. We review it and we talk

    Someone on the team reads it. If it makes sense, a conversation follows to understand what you need from the platform.

  3. You submit your technical profile

    Once inside the portal, the Tech Partner application asks two things: what you build today and what you want to build with us. Approved, the technical capability is enabled.

What to know before applying

By applying as a Tech Partner or a Startup Partner and being approved. It is not self-service: it does not appear on the pricing page and it cannot be activated with a card. It is approved case by case, looking at what you build today and what you want to build on Meteor.

Then you do not have to. Any active Meteor account with API access enabled issues its own keys from Settings → Developers and uses the same API, the same SDK and the same MCP server. The application only exists for the plan with no fixed fee.

No, and that is by design. It is a programmatic access plan: its contact and Met limits are minimal and it does not appear in the plan catalog. To run your operation with your team, your channels and the full platform, plans start at US$99 a month.

The Energy your executions consume, and nothing else. It is prepaid: it runs out and executions stop, so there is no surprise invoice at the end of the month. On this plan Energy costs more than on a paid plan, because there is no monthly fee subsidizing it.

The implementation partner sells and configures Meteor for their clients. The Tech Partner builds product on top: integrating, automating or publishing templates in the marketplace. You can be both, and in fact the way in is the same application.
